Prevention & Treatment
From 2012 to 2014, the Suicide Research Unit – with the support of the Flemish Government and in close collaboration with the Care and Health Agency – was a partner in the European project ‘EUREGENAS’, which stands for ‘EUropean REGions ENforcing Actions against Suicide’. The project aimed to contribute to the prevention of suicide in Europe by developing and implementing prevention strategies at regional level, which could serve as ‘good practice’ for the ‘European Community’.
As part of this project, the Suicide Research Unit developed guidelines and toolkits for suicide prevention:
- General guidelines for suicide prevention
- Toolkit for media professionals
- Suicide prevention, intervention and postvention in schools
- Suicide prevention, intervention and postvention in the workplace
